| The "Fair Use Policy" is a limit to prevent abusive use of the free call.
Thanks to safeguards, it prevents from an excessive use of the system, more particularly concerning free calls.
Those free calls are very expensive for the operator (because of the server disposal, management, bandwith, system, employee’s salaries, …) and, when someone exploits them (because of dealing stolen minutes or using this system in phone-selling companies…), this system will be quickly overloaded and the servers will not be able to provide a high quality service.
That’s the main reason why Betamax implements the FUP policy.
It is based on 300 minutes per 7 last days for most of clones (every clones except Nonoh which is based on 200 minutes).
When this limit is overrun, a relatively low rate/price is invoiced for free destinations.
